Happier pet owners live longer

It seems that our beloved pets tend to increase our lifespans. It may be a very good thing considering there are more old people now than any of the age group brackets. This will be bad news for Medicare ...hahaha.

I think it is the companionship. I consider if I were living alone in my old age with nothing to live or care for, my spirit would be more likely to give up going on. Whereas if I had something to care for, I would have reason to keep going.

As I live alone with my little five pound dog, I know how important he is in my life. He gets me out for a walk daily!

Being a pet owner makes me happy which probably reduces my stress and hopefully increases my lifespan. I can't imagine ever not having a pet so I'm certainly going to test the theory!

Yeah, a number of psychological studies have shown that people who have pets are happier. they are really good companions and help a lot in coping with loneliness.
